The building process is our passion and is the essence of what we do at Della Porta Construction. This fundamental process has been honed over the past twenty years, and the experience gained from our long history of sophisticated commercial and residential construction results in a finely tuned building experience.

Our superb team of principals, estimators, project managers and craftsmen all contribute to the effort at different stages of the process. As the project transitions from pre-construction to construction, there is a concerted effort to facilitate a comprehensive hand-off from the estimating team to the construction team.  This ensures that all of the critical details of the early design and pricing work are realized once construction starts. Utilizing this proven team approach to the building process greatly increases the probability of a successful project outcome.

THE PROCESS

Della Porta Construction’s services are best utilized when brought on board early in the design process, enabling the owner and architect to take full advantage of our knowledge of materials, custom building techniques, costs, and production schedules. DPC produces projects of the highest quality while maintaining critical budget and schedule demands. We have found that early contractor involvement contributes to the building of a cohesive team, enabling continuity from pre-construction through the end of construction and beyond.

SCHEDULING

DPC will establish and maintain key dates throughout the pre-construction process along with updating the project schedule once construction starts. We often work with the design team to create a pre-construction schedule that establishes key dates for owner decisions, design milestones, building permit submittals, and pricing exercises.

SITE ANALYSIS

Site Analysis services offered by DPC include reviews of geotechnical reports, advice on building locations and positioning, utilities, roads and landscaping reviews, and any other site specific input that can help the owner and architect take full advantage of the building site to optimize land usage.

ESTIMATING

Our estimating philosophy is one that strives for consistency and predictability from our earliest estimates through construction document pricing. Having reliable and predictable pricing from the early stages of design allows the owner to make informed choices early in the design process. We believe that the ability to offer predictable full estimating services from start to finish sets us apart from many of our competitors. Should the initial or subsequent estimating efforts result in a project cost that is more than an owner wants to spend, DPC will work with the owner and design team by offering product research, alternate means and methods, and value engineering options.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Exceptional project management is essential for the effective and efficient progression of any major construction project. In order to truly understand the depth of a build, Della Porta Construction project managers are involved beginning in the pre-construction process where they initiate planning, preparing, and setting benchmarks to ensure the build stays on schedule. Once in the construction phase of a project, Della Porta project managers utilize our integrated back office tracking and management system to ensure that every aspect of a build is completed on time and within budget using the effectual coordination of subcontractors, procurement of materials, inspections, and any other requirements for the build.

COMMUNICATION WITH OUR CLIENT

A construction project is a major investment, and we know that clients need to be informed about the status of their investments. This is why client communication is a key component of our project managers’ duties. Della Porta Construction clients know their project manager and are provided with direct contact information before the build even begins. Our project managers build client communication benchmarks into the build schedule and are just as committed to meet communication goals as they are any other build deadline. Our Progress Tracking Reporting System keeps clients updated during each phrase of the construction process, and our use of Remote Visual Reporting gives our clients visual updates on the status of their project throughout the build.

 

In addition to client communication, Della Porta maintains an ongoing relationship with architects, designers and others involved in the build to preserve the integrity of the project. Communication during the build is essential to ensuring a successful outcome, and we encourage our clients and project partners to reach out to any member of the Della Porta Construction team at any time.

QUALITY CONTROL

Della Porta Construction rests our reputation on the projects we build. From our extensive experience, we know which materials are of the best quality and which distributors sell them. We only employ the best craftsmen and vendors in the Treasure Coast, and our site managers carefully and constantly inspect each aspect of a build, only accepting the best quality work. Our decades of experience have shown us that pre-planning the installation and integration of building components such as windows, appliances, and HVAC systems leads to a well-organized and easy to manage final product. Direct management of each layer of a project from site work, fill, foundation, walls, roofs, windows, finishes, flooring and landscaping adheres to our commitment to the fact that it is not only what you see that defines quality, but what you don’t see as well.

MOVE IN

Once a Della Porta project is finished, you can be assured that DPC will provide the back-end support and service that your project deserves. This service starts with an orientation and walk-through of building systems with the owner so they have a full understanding of features and are comfortable with all aspects of their new construction. Along with the walk-through, DPC provides a comprehensive Operations and Maintenance Manual that includes contact phone numbers of project participants, as-built drawings, equipment manuals, cleaning and maintenance instructions, and any other reference material that could be useful.

SERVICE & MAINTENANCE

DPC provides regularly scheduled inspections of building systems as well as thorough inspections of the interior and exterior of the building for the purpose of detecting any potential maintenance or corrective issues to be dealt with. DPC prides itself on its aftercare program once the project is finished and our warranty and maintenance team are always available for consultation at any time.

 

During the one-year warranty period, our Service & Maintenance Manager will systematically update the inventory of your buildings components and conditions with our six-month and one-year walk-through inspections. At that point, DPC will identify preventative and ongoing maintenance programs, determine costs, and communicate all information in a timely manner.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Most buildings do not remain stagnant after move in. The changing needs of occupants leads to modifications, updates, additions, and renovations.  DPC encourages our clients to reach out to us if and when the time comes to make changes to your building. Be assured that DPC’s commitment to quality and the building process, as well as our familiarity with the existing structure will yield outstanding results.
